Those who know us know that we have a little (OK a BIG) obsession concerning Halloween.

The name of our company, Jako Lanterne takes inspiration from it; The term “Jack-o’-Lantern” is of Irish origin and designates carved pumpkins (originally turnips or rutabagas) equipped with a light inside like lanterns. They adorn balconies on Halloween night to repel evil spirits!

An event where I was sculpting in front of the public

Pictures of some pumpkins sculpted over the years, a fascinating technique that brings together sculpture and...agriculture. Seriously though, the hardest part is giving the appearance of depth without completely piercing the flesh, creating what is called “high relief”. You have to find the perfect pumpkin for this artistic discipline!

For us, it was vital that our daughter took full advantage of having parents who make costumes for a living. We try to contribute to this unique holiday and make it extra special. When the month of October comes, our daughter transforms… into a customer! It is with total abandon that we have, over the years, tried to make her wildest wishes come true.
